Gasoline Cal Cat

$349.95

The Cal-Cat is a Calorie Catalyst.  It is a patent pending coolant-to-fuel heat exchanger that uses wasted or unused heat from the engine's coolant to heat the fuel and the catalyst inside the catalyst chamber.  By heating the fuel we are able to speed up its ability to vaporize inside the engines intake manifold and inside the cylinder.  By heating the catalyst inside the Cal-Cat, the catalyst reacts with the fuel and helps to break down large Hydrogen/Carbon chains to make them so that they too will be able to be used earlier in the combustion process.  Normally these Hydrogen/Carbon chains do not vaporize until very late in the combustion process.  In short, it enhances combustion performance.

Wasting up to 82% of your gasoline dollar is due in part because the fuel is sprayed into your engine in liquid form which does not burn.  The Cal Cat heats up the fuel and breaks down some of the larger molecules making more of your fuel available during the combustion cycle.  In essence your fuel is more in harmony with engine physics.  Using the analogy of a wood stove, which is easier to burn, a log or wood chips?

Exploring normally wasted engine heat and a multi-stage catalyst, the Cal-Cat makes gasoline more compatible with your gasoline engine.  You can feel the power right away.  Your exhaust and engine stay cleaner.

The Cal-Cat does not make any fuel, or perform any other tricks.  It allows more of the fuel going into the engine to vaporize earlier, which in turn enables more of the fuel to produce power not wasted as heat in the exhaust or as pollutants in the air.  In gas analysis testing, the Cal-Cat has been shown to drastically reduce emissions.

Most vehicles only require the installation of one Cal Cat unit.  That being said, there are a few exceptions.

  1. Large Engines  -  We recommend using 2 or more units on VERY large engines.  (Such as a V10 or above.)  This is primarily done in order to keep up with the engine's fuel demand.
  2. Heavy Loads  -  If you plan to be hauling large loads (such as a large trailer over long distances)  We recommend using 2 units, again in order to keep up with fuel demands.
  3. Extra High Performance  -  When even additional performance is desired, two units can be installed in parallel to maximize effect.  For an example, in our compeition vehicle, we are utilizing two units even though we are only using a 4-cylinder engine.

Cal Cats are designed to be used on a variety of engine sizes.  From a 4-cylinder to a V6 or V8 and beyond!

NOTE:  We recommend adding additional units on engines larger than a V8.  This is none in order to keep up with the additional fuel flow requirements.

The Cal Cat is designed for use on ONLY gasoline based engines.  It is NOT compatible with diesel engines.

Additional products will be availabe soon for diesel appliations, so please check back!

Unfortunately, a Cal Cat will not work on an air cooled engine.

The Cal Cat is designed to use the excess heat from the engine in order to process the incoming fuel.  In order to do so, it must be connected to the engine's heater hose during installation.  Thus, an air cooled system simply does not work in this situation.

Sorry, no.  The Cal Cat is NOT designed for engines with carburetors.

However, we do plan on adding additional products that could be used with carburetors, so please check back soon.

Yes, the Cal Cat is designed for fuel injected, gasoline engines.

It CAN NOT be used on diesel engines, or any form of carbureted engine.

We plan on having additional products for both of these situations very soon!

Installed the cal-cat today. Few installation problems... my mistakes... took 2 1/2 hours instead of the estimated 1, but that is ok... not bad for a marine biologist. Did experience about 15% increase in mileage on the first run, from my baseline orange test from over two years ago... but since the computer is a bit screwy at the moment, I have been actually getting worse mileage since playing with HAFCs and covalizers and tuning and retuning... so it actually translates to an actual 28% increase from my last measured run a couple of weeks ago. Meanwhile, I will tune the car back to where it was... and I reckon that I can do better.

I installed a Cal-Cat on my 05 town & country minivan before installation I got 24 mpg after install I got 31.8 highway mileage. Also on my 99 caravan I got 20.5mpg after install I got 25.7 mpg.

I have been a heavy equipment mechanic for 25 years and am the owner operator of Heavy Equipment Repair Services LLC. I also have been racing motorcycles professionally for 18 years. I can certify that my 1999 31’ Ford Diesel Motor home received a drastic increase in power, performance, and an unprecedented 25% increase in fuel economy. The impressive aspect of these gains was with the vehicle fully loaded and towing an 18’trailer loaded with equipment and 2 motorcycles.

My racing motorcycle picked up at least 10 HP by the seat of the pants feel which I will be quantifying within the coming weeks on a certified dynamometer. I have never experienced outstanding performance and fuel efficieny before from a bolt on product.  My friends in the racing circuit are now interested in having a custom Cal Cat made for their motorcycles in addition to purchasing them for their tow vehicles based on my results. I am looking forward to installing the industrial version on the heavy equipment I repair, recondition, and sell to add value to my business.
